College Costs Are Through the Roof

Tell me about it. Although I want to send the 500Jerk kids to the college of their choice, the costs in 2017 and 2020 will be staggering. Is private college worth all that? On a recent visit to a private college, I was floored by the sumptuous surroundings (student cappuccino bar; state of the art athletic facilities, cushiony leather library chairs; cutting edge architecture, etc.). How much of a student's annual tuition is associated with these extras? And other than doctors and those with substantial inherited wealth, who can afford $40,000 per year in tuition?
