Which I hope doesn't trigger a similar urge on Boy Wonder's part. Because right now? We've really got more dog than we can handle.

Because of Winn-Dixie
Boy Wonder and I finished Maniac Magee and have started Kate DiCamillo's Because of Winn-Dixie, a great read-aloud book. India Opal Buloni, the protagonist, has a distinctive voice, and like Boy Wonder, she loves dogs. So much so that she adopts a stray she finds at the grocery store.
