Much to my delight, Miss M is taking French in middle school this year, and I am hopeful she will love it. For my part, I'm looking forward to re-learning pieces of that beautiful language.
As Miss M settled into the car recently (a place where we spend a good deal of time these days), she looked over at me quite intently, then enunciated very, very carefully, “Je m’appelle Maddie. Et toi?"
To which I enthusiastically responded, “Je m’appelle Kathleen! Comment ca va? Ca va bien? Oui?”
Perhaps slightly overwhelmed by my inappropriate levels of excitement, Miss M responded, “Au revoir.”
Nonetheless, c’est tout bon!
