Internet, I went to the Friday 1:00pm showing of Twilight by myself. There were no gaggles of teenage girls--all in school, no doubt (age does have its advantages), and I could enjoy the movie without the mortification of watching it with anyone older than sixteen.
And DID I enjoy it?
Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes. It was really fun to see on film. There are some cringingly hokey scenes, but those were limited. I'm not sure it would make sense to anyone that hasn't read the books, or whether it will do well in the theaters generally, but for me, it was good escapist fun.
