The extended 500Jerk clan gathered from places as far-flung as Texas, Connecticut, Missouri, and Illinois to celebrate my MIL's 80th birthday Saturday. All of her 17 grandchildren were there, as well as her first great-grandchild. We hosted the event, and it was a beautiful day.
As with Christmas, we had a houseful of cousins, although they didn't stay for a whole week. As Miss M mournfully noted as the family readied for their return trips home, "I feel like the cousins come just to leave us."
But how lucky we are to have them!
