Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar is a collection of short stories about a very peculiar school. Boy Wonder giggled for about 15 minutes after I finished the first chapter (that's the chapter where one of the teachers turns into an apple, then is eaten by the unknowing playground teacher). I love to hear Boy Wonder giggle, especially when a book is involved.
